War of Resistance: From the Start in a Bandit Hideout, I Get an Infinite System

Liu Fan never dreamed that an ordinary college student like him would wake up in 1938 as the bandit chief of Qinglong Stronghold in northern China.

He has just over a hundred men, thirty battered rifles, and not enough ammunition for a proper fight.

The Japanese are sweeping the area outside, the Eighth Route Army has listed him as a bandit to be eliminated, and Nationalist tax collectors come up the mountain every few days to demand grain.

The good news is that he has awakened two Systems.

One tells him that killing Japanese troops, saving civilians, and carrying out sabotage will all earn rewards. He can trade his contributions to the war against Japan for anything from Type 38 rifles to mortars, and from compressed rations to penicillin.

The other System is even more outrageous: as long as he has one of something, he can copy it infinitely. One bullet can become a box of bullets, and one sack of grain can become a whole warehouse.

Liu Fan looks at the System screen, then at the Japanese patrol below, burning and looting.

He swallows, then raises his gun.

Three months later, Qinglong Stronghold has built a network of bunkers and set up heavy machine-gun positions, while a thousand mu of fertile land have been reclaimed below the mountain.

Six months later, a regiment commander from the Eighth Route Army comes up to scout the area. After inspecting the stronghold’s defenses and weapons stockpile, he remains silent for a long time.

Then he sends a telegram back:

“I recommend establishing a working relationship with Qinglong Stronghold at once. This isn’t a bandit hideout. It’s a base the heavens have sent us.”

But Ichiro Yamamoto, the North China Area Army’s “bandit-suppression expert,” has also set his sights on this suddenly ascendant mountain stronghold. He wants to know where these bandits are getting their weapons.
