On a winter night in Edinburgh, surveyor Jiang Jibai meets hunter Su Jinnian. One is a highly sensitive soul trapped by trauma, building a tower of data and protocols to shut out the world; the other is a decisive man of action who has spent twelve years waiting for a certain frequency. From the tentative “Beacon Protocol” to an eternal bond sealed by a “324-day full year,” from surveying alone to mapping together. As salt stains become the lines of a life, and light flows through the cracks, the person who once could not bear to be touched eventually becomes the “defining parameter of the System’s living environment” for someone else. This isn’t a story about healing. It’s about two lonely coordinate systems becoming each other’s most precise way home through a long process of mapping.
A few reminders:
1. Don’t break up the canon couple! (I’m not a fan of love-triangle ship chaos.)
2. There’ll be interludes at the end of every volume (interludes are not extras). If some parts don’t connect, there’s an interlude in between. Interludes reflect my own views on what a novel should be. I don’t think a story can explain everything; there are bound to be things we don’t know, so I wrote the interludes to fill in some possible but unnecessary perspectives.
3. If you have a problem with the characterization, blame the author, not the characters.
4. Two male leads, pure romance, a little road trip, and a bit of an ensemble cast later on. If that’s not your thing, feel free to leave!
5. Most of this story is entirely fictional!!! Please don’t take it as fact!!!
6. They travel abroad early on, then around China later (probably?)
