Stop Rushing Me, I'm Building My Foundation

Lin Fan dies suddenly at his workstation and gets bound to a cultivation System.

He thought he'd be able to lie flat, but the System is only half-finished: cultivation techniques crash halfway through, his spiritual power reads "NaN," and ads pop up saying, "Recharge 648 now to ascend immediately."

Lin Fan: "You people have in-app purchases in cultivation, too?"

The System humbly begs him to cultivate, but Lin Fan glances at his computer. "Let me finish fixing this bug first."

Later, he discovers that his boss refines pills by working overtime, and a villain tries to poach him: "One million a year, tax-free!"

Lin Fan: "Do you offer housing benefits?"

Villain: "???"

Even when the Demon God descends, it has to ask him to handle its entry paperwork.

Lin Fan is fed up. "I just want to lie flat. Can you all get in line?"

This is the story of an office worker who gets swept up in the cultivation world's rat race and becomes a top-tier star.
