Neon and shadows intertwine in the "New Harbor City." On the surface, it is a bustling modern metropolis, but beneath it thrives a supernatural black market known as the "Dark Alleys." Supernatural abilities are not innate; they are "special energies" that can be transferred or traded through a medium.
The core mechanic: pawnshop rules. The protagonist, Lin Mo, owns a pawnshop called "Mo's Pawnshop." He can take in supernatural abilities and seal them inside objects. Those who pawn their abilities must pay a price, not only interest, but also some kind of personal bond. Lin Mo, meanwhile, can temporarily call upon sealed abilities using the pawnshop's ledger.
The protagonist: Lin Mo. On the surface, he is a down-on-his-luck young shopkeeper, but in truth, he is a collector of supernatural abilities. Calm and sharp-tongued, he believes that "there's no such thing as a free lunch."
The key conflict: Tonight, the first customer brings in an unknown "defective" supernatural ability. It not only disrupts the pawnshop's peace, but also draws the attention of a mysterious organization lurking in the Dark Alleys.
