Shen Goudan had three things she could never figure out in this life:
First, why her parents had given her that name.
Second, why she had to cultivate immortality when she was a dog.
Third, how the people at Qingyun Sword Sect had managed not to laugh for three hundred years. Weren’t they tired of it?
Qingyun Sword Sect was the cultivation world’s number-one haven for showing off.
The entrance requirements: keep a cold expression, say little, walk with your hands behind your back, stay unruffled no matter what happens, and whoever looks at someone else first loses.
From top to bottom, from the sect leader to the people who swept the grounds, everyone was terminally aloof.
Even the stone lions at the gate had been carved with expressions that said, “Who do you think you are?”
Shen Goudan wanted to act cool, too.
But she just couldn’t.
Her true form was a spirit dog, and her transformation was incomplete. Whenever she got excited, her tail popped out. When she was happy, she wiggled her butt. When she was scared, she pinned her ears back.
And so, Qingyun Sword Sect’s style grew increasingly absurd.
Everyone claimed it was “against the rules,” yet their actions said otherwise: they made her a food bowl, crafted her a collar, drew speed talismans, and laid out soft cushions for her.
Other people cultivated immortality to ascend. She did it for food, warmth, and affection.
The whole sect was busy pretending to be aloof, while Shen Goudan was busy being a dog.
Until one day, her true identity was exposed...
The copywriting has nothing to do with the plot of the novel, except that the protagonist is indeed called Goudan and is indeed a dog.
It's pretty, pretty, and interesting.
