"I Solved a Strange Murder Case Late at Night in Dongguan" is a hard-core criminal investigation suspense novel set in the local city of Dongguan. I did not deliberately pursue fantasy and novelty, but wanted to write about the darkness and kindness hidden under the smoke of fireworks in the real urban space.
The novel is set in Dongguan-specific scenes such as urban villages, industrial parks, old towns, and industrial zones. From "poisonous fog murder" to "Songshan Lake ghost hand", each case first arrests people with a mysterious, traceless, secret room-like mystery, and then uses rigorous criminal investigation logic, on-site investigation, laboratory analysis, and psychological profile to reveal the truth step by step. The protagonist Chen Feng is an ordinary criminal policeman. He does not cheat or deify, and solves every unsolved case with patience, calmness and professionalism. The story not only includes high-powered pursuit of the murderer and reversal of the case, but also the survival plight of migrant workers, women living alone, and low-level people. There is hatred, depression, revenge, but also perseverance, justice, and redemption.
What I hope to write is not just a thrilling murder case, but a true confrontation between light and darkness in a city late at night. Crime never sleeps, but there is always a group of people who guard the city at dawn in the dark.
