- Worldbuilding: Luoyanping, a mountain hollow in western Hunan, is home to a century-old shrine of yin. It venerates the ancient Yin Talisman God, neither god nor ghost: an indescribable being with no fixed form that feeds on human obsessions, living souls, and forbidden rituals. The more you learn, the lower your SAN value falls, until you are ultimately assimilated into one of the shrine’s "living sacrifices."
- The heart of the horror: It’s not about monsters leaping out at you, but cognitive corruption. See what should not be seen, understand the whispers in the shrine, or touch the yin talisman patterns, and you will slowly mutate into one of the shrine’s "bricks, tiles, incense, or candles."
- The investigation: A series of disappearances. Every victim violated one of Luoyanping’s Three Taboos:
1. Never call anyone by name at midnight
2. Never step onto the stairs of the yin shrine
3. Never let the red cord touch water
