Beijing’s Restrained Desire

Marriage first, love later · Devoted couple · Older man, younger woman · Sweet romance · Bright, lively little ray of sunshine with face blindness × cold, aloof man in power

Jing Yu and Sui Liangzhou were complete strangers with no connection to each other. Then they got married.

Jing Yu walked into the wrong private room. She had face blindness, so she mistook someone for someone else, caught him cheating, and nearly slapped the wrong person.

After an unexpected encounter, Jing Yu was attracted by Sui Liangzhou’s looks. They spent the night together, and then she ran off.

She couldn’t get away fast enough, but Sui Liangzhou insisted on taking responsibility and even came to her door.

Before the wedding

Sui Liangzhou: I won’t talk about feelings after we’re married. I’m not interested.

Jing Yu: Oh, so this man has no room for love in his heart.

That’s fine. It wasn’t his heart I was after anyway.

The prenuptial agreement:

If she married him, he would inject a huge amount of capital into her family’s company. And if he fell for someone else or had an affair during their marriage, she could ask for a divorce and take half his assets.

All she had to do was not fall in love with him.

Jing Yu was thrilled. Who cares about love? The money matters more!

Jing Yu: Deal! No problem at all!

One day, Jing Yu realized she might have fallen for Sui Liangzhou, and cried in a panic.

She was afraid that if Sui Liangzhou found out she loved him, he would divorce her, and she would lose her chance to claim half his assets. So she pretended every day that she didn’t love him.

“Wanwán, could you love me? I’ll give you everything I own, all right?”

“Beg me.”

The man who had said he didn’t believe in love before marriage knelt by the bed in his immaculate suit, the corners of his eyes red.

“Please. Love me.”

“Wanwán, kiss me.”

“Beg me.”

“Wanwán, baby, please kiss me.”
