The village doctor, Old Zhou, said Chen Wei wasn't qualified to practice, while the village chief's son, Zhao Hu, threatened to teach him a lesson. Chen Wei calmly produced his medical license, then cured a patient Old Zhou couldn't help. Before long, people from every village for miles around were coming to him for treatment.
Xiulan was so poor her family could barely afford to eat, so Chen Wei taught her to grow honeysuckle. Xiaofang was being bullied at her job in town, so he helped her open a shop of her own. Wang Qiang had a bad leg and no one would hire him, so Chen Wei healed it. Wang then led the whole village into sheep farming and prosperity.
The villagers all said, “Doctor Chen can cure more than illness. He can cure poverty, too!”
But trouble soon followed. A medical group from the provincial capital wanted to steal his prescriptions, while the Yin Fiend Sect of the cultivation world wanted his life.
Chen Wei sneered. “Send one, and I'll take him down. Send two, and I'll take them both. Qingshan Village is my home!”
