Without Telling My Family, I Ran for Mayor in the United States

At thirty-four, I secretly ran for mayor of an American city without telling my family.

My parents thought I was studying abroad. My older sister thought I was working a part-time job.

On inauguration day, I said these words in front of the whole world:

“Starting today, this city no longer belongs to the United States.”

The White House called me insane. The Pentagon sent troops to crush me.

Then they discovered that I had an army that had appeared out of thin air.

Fifty thousand. One hundred thousand. One hundred and fifty thousand.

Wherever the dragon banner rises becomes my territory.

Some call me a traitor.

But across the Pacific, 1.4 billion people call me a hero.
