Be Home Before 4:44 A.M.

Lin Shen works overtime until 11:58 p.m. His phone has no signal, and the streetlights outside turn a blood-red color.

[No-Return Time Zone activated. Effective at 00:00. Please return home before 04:44.]

He rushes through the revolving door and looks back to see another version of himself standing outside, wearing the same clothes, with a shadow at his feet that has risen to its feet.

The streets are empty. In taxis with the number 4 on their license plates, “things” in red raincoats sit in the back seats. The driverless buses are full of faceless “people,” all saying in unison, “Get on...”

When they grab your ankles, you must shout: I'm alive.

One new rule is added every hour.

What will happen at 02:00? How long can he hold out?

The most important rule is written at the end:

Don't look back at that “you.”
