At the End of the Yin-Shang Dynasty, I Rewrote Three Thousand Years with Ritual and Music

Human Sacrifice from the Start: I End Divine Rule in the Investiture of the Gods. In the final years of the Shang Dynasty, divine rule reigned supreme and human sacrifice was rampant. Piles of bones were used to prop up the illusion of six centuries of Shang prosperity.

Ji Dan, a modern university student majoring in classical literature, opened his eyes to find he had transmigrated into the body of Ji Chang’s second son, the legitimate heir who came after the eldest. He was now a hostage from Xiqi in the capital of Zhaoge, where his life was worth less than grass. From the start, he was sent to the sacrificial altar to be offered up alive.

Armed with three thousand years of civilizational knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of the pre-Qin era, he carved out a path to survival in a savage, blood-soaked age. He used oracle-bone inscriptions to expose the divine authorities’ deception, won the people’s hearts with benevolence, and devised a campaign against Shang with the foresight of generations to come.

He rescued Boyikao from certain death, helped Kings Wen and Wu establish their rule over the realm, and took charge in a crisis to put down the Rebellion of the Three Guards. With a single Book of Rites, he brought an end to the millennia-long era of human sacrifice and divine rule on the land of Huaxia.

From hostage in Zhaoge to the sage who shaped an age, he personally planted the roots of benevolence that would sustain Huaxia civilization for three thousand years.
