"The Biography of Empress Dowager Xiaocigao" focuses on the extraordinary wisdom, tenacity and political ability that Ma Xiuying (Empress Xiaocigao) displayed in domestic affairs, people's livelihood, and crises in the early days of Zhu Yuanzhang's business, especially around the time of Dingding Yingtian. Through core plots such as "governing the government and calming the people", "thwarting civil strife", and "defending the lonely city", it strives to depict a three-dimensional female image who is not only a "virtuous wife", but also an outstanding politician and one of the founders of the regime.
On the basis of respecting the basic historical facts and the spiritual core of the characters, this article carries out reasonable artistic fiction and concentrated shaping, aiming to show the indispensable light that a great woman can shine in the magnificent founding epic.
