Su Yu was the most forgettable person at the academy.

Poor, obedient, well-behaved, and always top of the class in home economics. Whenever the young ladies talked about him, they always said the same thing: “He's so domesticated. He'd make a nice husband.”

He thought that if he kept his head down, no one would discover the secret he hid beneath his collar.

That was until he became Shen Xinglan's deskmate.

She was the wildest, most unruly young lady at the entire academy, and she couldn't care less about men.

She always looked at him with impatience and spoke to him in a sarcastic, cutting tone. He thought she looked down on him for being poor and putting on airs.

Until one late night, she recognized him at a bar.

His hands were trembling, and his Adam's apple bobbed nervously beneath her gaze. He tried to run, but she grabbed him firmly by the wrist.

After that, everything changed.

She started following him, investigating him, and protecting him. When she saw him clench his fists as a female customer gave him trouble, she turned around and had someone teach those women a lesson. When she saw him skip meals to save money, an anonymous box of expensive takeout appeared on his desk the next day.

He didn't dare ask, didn't dare imagine, and didn't dare believe it.

Until one day, a group of women cornered him in a warehouse.

A sports car smashed straight through the warehouse doors.

Shen Xinglan stepped out, her eyes frighteningly red. Each word landed in his ears, clear and hard:

“Su Yu, from today on, you're under my care.”
