Moonlight Beyond Beijing's Second Ring Road

In the fall of 2020, Lu Yiming, a discharged veteran, and Lin Qi, a recent graduate, became roommates in a shared apartment in Changyang, Beijing. One was a taciturn fitness trainer who let his actions speak for him; the other was a gentle, naive intern who had come to Beijing to chase her dreams. They started with a bowl of instant noodles, shared their troubles through notes stuck to the fridge, and brushed past each other during the morning rush on the Fangshan Line. Beijing is enormous, big enough to hold millions of lonely souls. Yet it is also small enough for two strangers to find warmth in each other beneath the moonlight on the eleventh floor. This is a story about meeting, keeping each other company, and staying together, dedicated to all the young people doing their best to make a life in the big city.
