Li Kuan, a modern history buff, unexpectedly transmigrates when his soul enters the body of Li Kuan, Prince of Chu, the short-lived second son of Tang Prince of Qin Li Shimin, who barely gets a mention in the history books. He brings with him more than a modern soul: he also carries a “deadly secret” from the future, one that reveals the fate of the entire Tang Dynasty. He knows that in the ninth year of Wude, his father Li Shimin will kill his brothers at the Xuanwu Gate Incident and force his father to abdicate, ushering in the Reign of Zhenguan. He also knows that the original owner of this body will soon die young of illness, becoming a regret barely touched upon in the history books. If this secret is exposed, he will be branded a demon and doomed beyond redemption.
