Bailin, God of the Kiln

An archaeologist meets Bai Lin, a child who has guarded a kiln for a thousand years, in the ancient town of Chenlu. By excavating the Yaoyao kiln ruins and unraveling the mystery of the “Bai Lin” maker’s mark, the archaeologist witnesses the passing down of craftsmanship and the warmth of human connection. Blending reality with the supernatural, the novel tells the story of a kiln fire that has burned for a thousand years: as long as someone remembers, the fire will never die; as long as someone keeps watch, the soul will never fade.
