The First Emperor Is in the Hospital

A history graduate student finds an emperor from antiquity who is still alive.

He says he has lost his memory and remembers nothing.

Yet every old tale he tells matches the historical records she has read, down to the last detail.

The bronze plaque at her neck begins to grow hot when it draws near the silver ring on his wrist.

She recalls a line of tiny writing on the oldest page of her family tree: When the ring-bearing stranger arrives, give him the history books.

She always thought it was merely a superstition passed down by her ancestors.

Only today does she understand: what the Su family has guarded for two thousand years is not a family maxim, but a person.
