Chen Xiaoyu (guide): A 20-year-old girl who longs to escape her village. She represents young people trapped by tradition, and is both a source of hope and a danger to Lin Qian.
Li the Medium (mysterious figure): A 50-year-old shaman controlled by the River God, but inwardly wavering. She is a potential turning point in the story.
