The story takes place in Communication University, which is known for its freedom and laxity. The protagonist Mo Yechen is recognized as a "freak" in the literature department. He is a young boy with an exquisite cat-like appearance but is extremely world-weary. He has topped the school's grade point list all year round, but he always sleeps in the last row of the classroom with a "want to die" expression on his face.
