After Joining a Dating Show With My Ex, a Former Top-Tier Star

To save her family’s little shop, Lin Xi, a librarian with severe social anxiety, grits her teeth and joins the hit dating show Heartbeat Station. She only wants to keep her head down and earn enough appearance fees, but the moment she steps out of the car and looks up, her blood runs cold. The much-adored male contestant is Chen Yanli, her first love, who vanished without a word seven years ago and left her heartbroken. Once a top-tier star, he is now a wealthy tech entrepreneur. Stripped of his celebrity aura, he seems all the more composed and intimidating. On the show, he treats her with polite distance, as if they’ve just met, yet in the occasional deep look he casts her, she glimpses the cracks of the past. As a dazzling female investor sets her sights on Chen Yanli, and a warm-hearted painter looks after her with tender care, what was supposed to be a trip to “make ends meet” becomes a second reckoning with her first love, all under the eyes of millions of viewers.
