A Woman Among Men

The “sickly” idle prince × the “clumsy” new palace maid. One feigns illness, the other is genuinely silly, and together they live and die by each other’s side amid a storm of power struggles.

Everyone in the palace knows the Fourteenth Prince of Huayang Hall is frail and sickly, and out of favor. His palace is so quiet, there aren’t even enough maids to go around.

No one knows that at night, he practices with a long spear in the courtyard, every move full of heroic grace.

Everyone in the palace knows the new maid, Mei Zirou, is clumsy and can’t even refer to herself as “your servant.”

No one knows that at night, she dares to break into the Bureau of Eunuchs just to save a neighbor boy she’s barely met.

That night, she lost her way and stumbled upon him practicing martial arts beneath the moon.

He stared at the calluses on her palm, while she stared at his muscular physique.

One feigned illness; the other was genuinely silly.

He smiled foolishly and pulled her into his arms. “I’ll always indulge you in this life.”
