Chen Jianqiu was originally a reporter. He was forced to leave the journalism industry because of an old case and later became the night shift manager of the city's funeral home.
At two o'clock in the morning, a young female corpse that had just been delivered said the first words in his ear:
"He's not here to save me."
From that night on, Chen Jianqiu found that he could hear the last words of the deceased.
Behind every corpse that was rushed to be cremated, every record that was altered in advance, and every seemingly ordinary accident, there seemed to be a hand secretly erasing the truth.
In order to find out about Lin Wan's death, he followed the few words left by the dead man and walked step by step into the depths of the morgue, old archives, observation lists and old cases from fifteen years ago. But the more he investigated, the more he discovered that he was not the one who got involved by chance at all.
Many years ago, someone had written his name into a special file.
The dead are testifying for him, but the living want him to shut up more than the ghosts.
