Also known as I’m a Bastard Son, and I Won’t Go Down Without a Fight
That day,
the king personally ran a sword through the hero who had saved the kingdom.
Then he knelt before the throne and took his own life.
And it all began with nothing more than
an old, forgotten trade route across the northern wasteland.
A reckless bastard prince.
A paladin raised in a monastery.
A cool-headed, taciturn archer.
Along the way:
goblins, kobolds, ruins, dragon bones, ancient curses…
Things kept spiraling out of control.
And worse still,
they slowly began to realize:
the wise king who saved the kingdom ten years ago seemed to be hiding a secret.
And in the shadows,
a demon had been watching them all along.
It wanted to prove just one thing:
those who protect the world will all become monsters in the end.
The starting plot of this work is quite plain. It does not directly present a grand narrative of saving the world, nor does it suddenly introduce a shocking conspiracy. Just a few characters embark on a journey to the North. An exiled monarch. A holy warrior who was abandoned since childhood. There is also an experienced elf ranger. They traveled north, passing through wastelands, ancient roads and abandoned mines, encountering strange beasts, dungeons, and some indescribable beings. Emotional entanglements and intertwined fates all stem from this. I prefer to depict the details of the journey itself. Conversations around the campfire, silence while walking, and the gradual transformation of people during the journey. If you want, you might as well go north with them. The story has just begun.
