The Forensic Doctor's Daughter: The Crown Prince's Beloved

When Murong Youyou came to in front of the dissection table, the sharp smell of formaldehyde was gone. In its place was a strange fragrance, a mixture of cool incense and medicinal herbs. Her last memory was of a late night in the medical school lab. After working for 72 hours straight to solve an unsolved case, a tearing pain had suddenly ripped through her heart. When she opened her eyes again, she saw an ornately carved, gold-trimmed canopy bed, gauzy aqua-green silk curtains, and a pale yet breathtakingly beautiful face in the bronze mirror. It all pointed to one absurd fact: she, the “living scalpel” who had ranked first in her modern forensic medicine program for three consecutive years, had transmigrated into the eldest legitimate daughter of the Prime Minister’s residence in the Great Xia Dynasty.

The original owner of this body was also named Murong Youyou, a legendary young noblewoman known throughout the capital. Over the past three days, fragments of memories had surfaced, piece by piece, allowing her to piece together a shocking portrait of herself. She was hailed as the capital’s foremost beauty and talent in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting, yet could shoot an eagle’s feather from a hundred paces away on the polo field. She had studied under the head of the Divine Healers’ Pavilion, and her mastery of acupuncture was extraordinary, though she often used poison to counter poison in her prescriptions. More astonishing still, she was the mysterious leader of Lancang Pavilion, the jianghu’s foremost intelligence network. To the outside world, she went by the male alias Meixi, and her paintings were “priceless,” while her poems hid cryptic clues.
