The History of the Yuan, Ming, and Qing: The Setting Sun of the Feudal Empire

As feudal autocracy reached its extreme, the empire entered its final twilight. This book traces in detail the grand sweep of history from the iron cavalry of the Great Yuan to the fall of the Great Qing. It explores not only political intrigue and power struggles, but also the collapse of the old order under the impact of industrial civilization. This is a somber, profound sunset, reminding us to remain ever alert to the world beyond our borders. To understand the rise and fall of these three dynasties is to understand the contest between conservatism and reform, as well as the helplessness and choices faced by individuals when the great wheel of history turns.
