The protagonist, Lin Xiaosheng, is a third-year directing student at a film academy. When the “Great Silence” breaks out, his ability isn't that he “gains” filmmaking skills. Instead, his brain automatically compiles reality into the language of film. Along the way, as he fights to survive, he finds friendship and grows as a person.
