Divine Revelation or Mad Rambling

When I was ten, a crowd of people suddenly moved into my head.

They chattered all day, saying I was the savior, the one and only god in the universe.

My parents took me to every doctor they could find. They all said I was mentally ill.

I thought so too, until, after seventeen years on medication, the firmament was torn apart.

For the first time, the voices in my head spoke as one: “The time has come. God, please awaken.”

I stared at the rift stretching across the entire Milky Way, and the medication slipped from my hands, scattering across the floor.

It turned out the world was the one that had gone mad.
