On the first day of the school year, Lin Che accidentally bumps into Su Wan, a third-year student. He blurts out, “Sorry, I think my suitcase has fallen for your art book.”
Su Wan doesn't laugh, but she remembers him. Later, Lin Che discovers that the aloof goddess by day is a popular online artist by night, watching anime in dinosaur pajamas. As luck would have it, he rents an apartment off campus, and hers is right next door. He asks, “Senior, is there a link to those pajamas? I want to buy a pair too.”
From then on, his corny jokes become the soundtrack to her days, and breakfast notes left at her door become part of their routine. When she's on her period, he takes the day off to stay with her; when she's sad, he tells jokes to cheer her up. He knows she doesn't eat scallions, and she knows he scratches his head when telling jokes. He collects the notes she writes back, and she draws him into her work.
Three years later, he moves from next door into her heart.
This is a sweet story about a chatterbox using humor to warm a lonely, aloof campus beauty until she gradually melts. There are no misunderstandings, just two people who understand each other better and better, growing from neighbors into lovers, and then into a close-knit circle of friends.
“Su Wan, can I renew my lease? Permanently?”
