Synopsis
A haunted-house livestream collides with a real ghost, turning the entire online audience into accomplices in a tomb raid.
Lin Shen, a national studies blogger; Su Jiu, a teenage girl hacker; Chen Atu, a martial arts expert; and Tang Xiaotang, an antiques appraiser: four top-tier stars, each with millions of followers, are forced to form the most absurd tomb-raiding crew in history during a paranormal livestream that goes off-script.
In front of the camera, they're video creators with convincing acting skills. Behind it, they're descendants of the Heaven's Pardon bloodline, burdened with a thousand-year-old curse. Lin Shen livestreams while coughing up blood, hoping to break his family's fate of dying at twenty-five. Su Jiu's DNA is a perfect match for the female corpses in thirteen ancient tombs. Chen Atu's family-inherited “undying corpse king” has mysteriously been stolen. And when Tang Xiaotang fled Asia's largest antiquities-smuggling family, she stole her father's client list.
During one livestream, they stumble upon a conspiracy by the transnational organization Nirvana, which is using live human subjects to experiment with immortality. They also discover that all of them are direct descendants of the participants in a Ming Dynasty blood ritual called “Four Lamps to Extend Life.” To survive, they have no choice but to make their act real in front of four million viewers: the live chat cracks thousand-year-old mechanisms, donations buy tomb-raiding gear, the top donor might be a transnational assassin, and every “livestream accident” is a real brush with death.
Now they're wanted nationwide, framed as tomb raiders and murderers, with both an antiquities-smuggling syndicate and a transnational organization hunting them down. Their only way out is to find the four ancient lamps scattered across the country and unravel a possession trap that has endured for six hundred years.
They have three days to steal a path to survival, fighting for a chance to see dawn between the camera and the guns.
