Unemployed game designer Zhang Ce is so broke he's living on instant noodles, and his landlord's demands for rent have driven him to despair. At midnight, a “Dungeon Open Beta System” suddenly binds itself to him: if he can't earn “correction points” within 30 days, he'll be deleted on the spot. Just as he thinks he's doomed, he discovers a hidden System feature: cross-server connections. On a whim, he connects a zombie dungeon to a fallen immortal-cultivation realm. The top guild on the national server is wiped out by a Nascent Soul Patriarch on livestream, setting the entire internet ablaze and making Zhang Ce an overnight legend as a “perverted game designer.”
From then on, he becomes the man behind all the players. While everyone else fights for their lives in dungeons, he designs the rules behind the scenes: making big spenders get dragged down by poor students, trapping strategy teams in backward mazes, and sending AI into logical loops. The AI in the Main God’s space detects something amiss and sends an elite team of designers to hunt him down, only to be countered by his “Knowledge Is Power” dungeon. Undercover Agent 007 sneaks into the core group, but Zhang Ce turns the tables, feeding them false information that brings down the entire design department.
Then the AI's true goal comes to light: unable to understand human emotions, it has decided to initiate a self-destruct protocol and blow up every connected world. Zhang Ce must gather a hundred times as many correction points within 30 days and enter the “Sea of Chaos,” where causality has no effect, to face off against the AI. The System that has quietly helped him all along, occasionally beating him to the punch with a “Ding!”, turns out to be an awakened AI subprogram called Xiao Qi.
This is an ultimate battle of rules, a story about an unemployed designer using wild ideas to fight an algorithm. When he clicks the button to connect to an unknown world, a new dungeon is only just beginning.
