Demon Slayer: By the Water’s Edge, the Butterfly Pledges Her Life to Giyu

[Demon Slayer multi-ship fanfiction] [Giyu and Shinobu 99] [Tanjiro and Kanao] [Zenitsu and Nezuko] [Inosuke and Aoi] [Obanai and Mitsuri] [Sweet romance] [Everyday life] [No angst] [Humor]

Everyone in the Demon Slayer Corps knows Giyu Tomioka is disliked. He is the only one who firmly believes, "I'm not."

Shinobu Kocho takes on the post-battle cleanup work with him, and she has a perfectly good reason: teasing him is much more fun than handling paperwork. She calls him "Mr. Tomioka, the man everyone dislikes," and he earnestly corrects her: "I'm not disliked."

She pokes him, and he reacts.

Everyone at the Butterfly Mansion is placing bets. Zenitsu wagers she'll be driven to tears within three months, Inosuke bets Giyu will get beaten up within a month, and Tanjiro sniffs the air and says, "Soon."

Shinobu can't stop laughing. She thinks this man is a walking source of amusement.

Until Tengen Uzui's party, where she has two drinks too many and tells this "drunkard," "I like you." She regrets it the moment she says it and plans to pretend she has amnesia the next day.

But the next morning, Giyu Tomioka is standing outside her door, looking so serious it's frightening.

"Shinobu. I heard what you said last night."

"You were drunk. You imagined it."

"I wasn't drunk."

"...What do you mean?"

"I mean," he says, looking at her, his ears bright red, yet not stumbling over a single word, "I feel the same."
