National Fate Dark Zone: One Line from the Start, 'Here Comes the Flower'

The Dark Zone has descended upon the world. Contestants from every nation enter the exclusion zones to evacuate, and resources are materialized a hundredfold!

Lin Xiaodao, the contestant from the Dragon Kingdom, starts with a net worth of minus one million, wearing rags and carrying a battered entrenching tool.

Viewers across the internet are in tears: “It's over! The Japanese next door have a full set of level-six gear, while our guy's rummaging through trash bags?”

But Lin Xiaodao gives a cold smile. In his mind, the voice of Saeed, the Dark Zone's final boss, rings out: “Kid, see that squad fully kitted out up ahead? Go for their feet!”

And just like that, the whole internet sees things differently:

Lin Xiaodao crouches in the bushes. As a heavily armored Sakura Kingdom squad passes by, he whips out a grenade.

“Helmet, armor, gun, chest rig, backpack... I'll take the lot!”

That night, players around the world lose it: “Please, just act like a human being! Those are our nation's National Destiny supplies. Did you just possess them all?”

Lin Xiaodao: “Sorry, there are only two kinds of people in the Dark Zone: my loot bags, and people on their way to becoming loot bags.”
