1. Chief of Commoner Pavilion (256 BC-209 BC)
Liu Bang (also known as Ji, a native of Zhongyangli, Peifeng County) was born in a peasant family. He was open-minded and not involved in production.
- He served as the pavilion chief in Sishui (a low-level official). He was fond of wine and sex, but he had great ambitions.
- Seeing Qin Shihuang on tour, he sighed: "This is what a man should do!"

2. Peixian raised troops (209 BC)

- Liu Bang led his army westward, recruiting surrenders along the way. He first entered Guanzhong and garrisoned Bashang.
- Prince Qin Ying surrendered and the Qin Dynasty was destroyed.
- Made a three-part agreement with the elders in Guanzhong: those who kill will die, and those who injure others and steal will be compensated for their crimes, which has won the hearts of the people.
4. Hongmen Banquet (206 BC)
Xiang Yu led an army of 400,000 into the Pass, hoping to destroy Liu Bang.
- When Liu Bang went to the Hongmen Banquet, Xiang Bo and Fan Kuai helped him and narrowly escaped.
- Xiang Yu established himself as the overlord of the Western Chu, and named Liu Bang the King of Han. He governed Bashu and Hanzhong, and was restrained by the three Qin kings.
5. The struggle for hegemony between Chu and Han (206 BC-202 BC)
Liu Bang reluctantly entered Shu and burned the plank road to show that he had no intention of looking eastward.
