The spirit tide arrives, unleashing spiritual energy across the globe. Mutant beasts pour through the rifts, and cities are reduced to ruins.
Humanity begins to awaken and is ranked from F to S.
Courier Lu Chen stands before the testing device. Four words flash across the screen: F-rank, no combat ability.
His supervisor tosses his work badge into the trash. "A useless F-rank like you isn't even qualified to deliver packages anymore."
No one notices that the scanner burns out three chips while reading him. It can't comprehend the power awakening inside him.
All Things Resonance.
Absorb, analyze, copy, combine, evolve: no limit.
Others can use only one ability. He can take one just by touching it. While others spend ten years advancing a rank, he rises two ranks in three days, and the testing device breaks down completely.
"Emergency bulletin: A suspected S-rank energy fluctuation has been detected south of the city. All combatants ranked B or above, assemble immediately!"
Zhao Tiezhu scratches his buzz cut. "Brother Chen, you don't think they're talking about you, do you?"
Lu Chen squats by the roadside, munching on a pancake. "Nothing to do with me. I'm just a courier."
The next second, a mutant beast charges out of the ruins and pounces on the survivors. Lu Chen sighs and throws a casual punch. Golden light blasts away half a street.
The B-rank Awakened fall silent as one.
But he soon discovers that the spirit tide isn't a natural disaster. It's the Abyssal Civilization's "seeding": they infuse worlds with spiritual energy to accelerate evolution, then, once the Awakened grow strong enough, harvest them all at once like crops.
Earth is Target No. 27. The previous twenty-six planets are already dead.
And his parents, missing for three years, seem to be connected to the harvest.
The F-rank nobody clenches his fist, golden light in his palm illuminating the ruins.
"This delivery is a year late, but no matter. The mission will be completed."
