The gods turned the earth into an experimental field, and humans were reduced to sample number 73. Philosophy student Su Che, a depersonalized person who looks at the world through the window, struggles to survive in endless copies with the determined veteran Lin Xiao and the bright-minded medical student Shen Qinghe.
Survival is not the only rule here. The gods of old looked on with cold eyes, using the various dungeons as the crucible and the ten promotion exams as the melting pot to extract the deepest fear, trust, memory and logic of human nature. Su Che's awakened "recorder" authority allowed him to glimpse the cold underlying code of the game, but he also shouldered the ultimate question of exploring the "meaning of existence."
From voting on life and death on the circular train, to gambling with probability in the casino; from the corridor facing the inner fear, to the cemetery witnessing the embers of previous civilizations. They used their weak human nature to fight against the rules of gods, and in the desperate situation of logic, they used fetters as spears to question the system like a paradox.
This is a cruel defense to justify existence. When the final judgment comes, they must hand in their answers: How can human beings prove that they have an indelible weight in an experiment where they know for sure that everything is false?
