Sixteen Years of War
In 2026, special forces soldier Yang Zheng falls off a cliff. When he opens his eyes again, it is 1937. He is with the 386th Brigade of the Eighth Route Army, under Chen Geng’s command.
He has no guns or artillery, only a mind full of modern military knowledge. From Qigeng Village and Shentouling to Shangganling, he fights for sixteen years, rising from squad leader to battalion commander and going from the War of Resistance Against Japan to the Korean War. Of the more than three hundred men in his battalion, fewer than ten survive.
In 1953, scarred and wounded, he leaves the battlefield with a stack of photographs, a shell casing, and a piece of metal tucked away.
In 2026, he wakes up. Not a single scar marks his body.
But the things in his arms are still there.
It wasn’t a dream. Three hundred lives were at stake.
