After a thousand years of dreaming, Jiang Bai, a graduate student in the Chinese Department, traveled through the prosperous Tang Dynasty and became the son of a merchant in Sichuan. Relying on the immortal poems in his mind, he wrote "Moonlight in front of the bed" and indulged in wine to write "Clouds Think of Clothes, Flowers Think of Face". The name of the poem shocked the world, and He Zhizhang was shocked as "an immortal". He is famous all over the world, but he is always looking for a figure he has never met before - the legendary romantic and uninhibited poetry immortal, Li Bai.
He lived a happy life, but also lived a life of hardship. A strongman takes off his boots and a noble concubine holds an inkstone, but they are ultimately the king's jester. In the eternal king's shogunate, Yelang is exiled, only to realize that the scholar has misled the country. From the frivolity of "laughing up to the sky and going out" to the melancholy of "hoping to be drunk forever", the poems he wrote are closely related to his own destiny. He is often called "Taibai" and given the nickname "Qinglian". All his close friends and enemies seem to be working together to push him towards an established name. He resisted and struggled, but it was like falling into a spider's web.
Until he was sick in his later years, the emperor's messenger arrived with an edict, and the sound shook the roof tiles: "Give me the surname Li, who will shine as bright as the bright moon... From now on, I shall be called Li Taibai!"
As if Jiang Bai was struck by lightning, his sixty-year memory suddenly came through. It turns out that the Li Bai he has been looking for all his life is exactly himself in the mirror. After a big dream, he smiled and wrote with dripping ink, which was his final masterpiece:
"It has been a dream for sixty years, but now I know who I am. I was banished to an immortal, so why should I ask where I came from?"
This is a person's epic, and also a soul's ultimate questioning and generous acceptance of destiny.
