The moment the tight band was withdrawn, he realized that the thing that had held him for five hundred years had already been trapped in his heart. Looking back on the past, the ninety-nine and eighty-one difficulties on the way to learn the scriptures, and the monsters that "happened" to appear were all scripts arranged by others.
He went to the underworld and found the tomb of the six-eared macaque. The "monster" whom he killed with his own hands said before he died: "I also have a name."
When he returned to Huaguo Mountain, three thousand monkeys and grandsons were missing. Before he died, the old monkey slapped him: "You have become a Buddha, but do you still remember that you said you would take us to be free?"
When he visited Xianyue Sanxing Cave, Bodhi told him: Pursuing Buddhist scriptures in the West is not to teach scriptures, but to create suffering. The more miserable a person is, the more he believes in God; the more desperate he is, the more he seeks Buddha. Gods and Buddhas live by sucking the suffering of all sentient beings.
Tang Monk was slapped to death by Tathagata. Before he died, he wrote in blood: "Wukong, don't come. Stay alive."
Sun Wukong finally understood that what he wanted was not becoming a Buddha, but justice.
From Lingshan Mountain to the Heavenly Court, from the Outer Heaven to the ruins of the previous era, he met Liu'er who had laid a grave for him for five hundred years, Bajie who was greedy for life and afraid of death but stood up, Sha Seng who protected him with his life, Nezha who was willing to stand by his side, and Wuzhiqi who jumped out of the stone like him but died alone.
He gradually understood: No matter how strong one person is, he cannot change the world, but a group of people can.
When immortals, Buddhas, demons, and humans truly joined forces for the first time, Heavenly Dao asked "Aren't you afraid of death?" Countless voices merged into one sentence——
"Me too."
This battle is about rules and freedom.
