The Final Wager: Synopsis
The day he wakes up in a mental hospital, Lin Ci discovers that the world has changed.
His fellow patients' smiles conceal sharp fangs, moonlight beyond the window runs with blood, and a line of tiny writing on the medical file beside his bed reads:
"Congratulations, you've been chosen for the Final Wager.
Rule One: 99% of the humans here are beasts wearing human skin.
Rule Two: You must win twelve Zodiac wagers to leave alive.
Rule Three: Your only weapon is a lie."
The card he holds is from the "Deceiver" sequence
Any lie he tells can briefly become true, as long as everyone believes it.
So, in the "Midnight Hall of Mirrors," where ghouls lurk, he smiles at the judge and says:
"Actually, you're the fake one in the mirror."
The mirror shatters, and the ghoul turns to ash.
At the "Wheel of Fate," watched over by the gods, he whispers to all living beings:
"I designed this wager from the very beginning."
The rules are rewritten, and the gods are dethroned.
Behind him, the "little sister" tugging at his sleeve has a gleam of animal gold flickering deep in her pupils.
He knows she is a beast, a predator that must devour "humanity" to survive.
But he also remembers how she used blood-stained fingertips to carve a path to safety for him amid the tide of monsters.
"If this world is one great deception..."
Lin Ci unfolds the Domain of Mortal Dust and stares into the shadows beyond the heavens.
"Then I'll deceive the rules, deceive the gods, and deceive the end, "
"Within this domain, my word is truth."
