A Qiang, a country boy who works as a manual laborer, is tricked into going to northern Myanmar by his girlfriend Lin Na, who promises they can “make a fortune together.” He thinks this is his chance to turn his life around, but instead steps into a living hell. On his first day at the compound, he watches a fellow captive beaten to death. Beaten and threatened himself, he takes up scam scripts just to stay alive, personally cheating an innocent old man and gradually becoming a “demon” despised by everyone.
In the compound, where the strong prey on the weak, his roommate stabs him in the back, so he sends the man straight to hell in return. When the northern Myanmar crime boss Kun Sha tests him, one sincere answer saves him from certain death. He rescues Xiaoxue, the boss's only daughter, and unexpectedly wins her heartfelt devotion. Rising from the bottom, where he once cleaned toilets, to become a prominent figure in the compound, he gains power without ever losing his conscience.
