Arthas, the New King

[Warcraft fan fiction + transmigration + undead commander + antihero + filial family bonds + instant-noodle antics]

Before Arthas drew the sword, the last thing on his mind was: I haven't even finished my bowl of vine pepper beef noodles.

When he opened his eyes again, his hand was already gripping Frostmourne. Behind him, a dwarf prince was shouting, “The sword is cursed!” The ancient monster inside the blade was yelling, “Give me your body!” And in the distance, his old man in Lordaeron was waiting for him to return in triumph.

He opened his mouth, wanting to say, “Run! That sword is poisonous!”

What came out was: “Aah, ooh, uh.”

Well, there went his account for spoilers.

So Arthas made a decision that went against everything his ancestors stood for: if he couldn't talk, he'd just hack away. He hacked through the undead, then the demons, then the Burning Legion. Along the way, he turned the foul-mouthed Lich King in the sword into a professional heckler, lured the Ranger-General of Silvermoon into becoming an undead CEO, and herded the three feuding clans of Mount Hyjal into the same tent for a meeting.

Other people transmigrate and become heroes. He transmigrated and became a babysitter.

The kind the whole world calls a “good son,” while he squats in the snow with the Soul-Eater Sword and gnaws on cold instant noodles.

But that's all right. Young Dad may not have much else, but he's one tough bastard.

“Kingship is not eternal, but instant noodles are. Even when they're cold, they're still noodles.”

PS: Alternate-universe plot with major changes. Fans of the original, proceed with caution. No Holy Light to save the day, just two idiots going toe-to-toe. Includes plenty of old Ner'zhul quotes, Jaina laying down the smack, and Sylvanas being forced to clock in.
