He Wants the Stars to Shine High Above

[Both are pure + male-male romance + reunion after a long separation + mutual salvation + bittersweet]

[Relentless, grab-you-and-keep-you seme x self-loathing, avoidant uke]

Stars belong high in the sky, where people can gaze up at them. The one Jiang Mu loves most is called Xia Chenxing.

In Xia Chenxing’s plans, separating from Jiang Mu would be as final as death.

But Jiang Mu sees it as nothing more than a test from the stars.

They’re just playing a game like they did when they were children.

If his playful star has gone into hiding, he’ll patiently fish it up from the depths, bit by bit, and cradle it in his arms, treasuring it above all else.

“Jiang Mu, in my next life, I’ll stay by your side forever.”

“I don’t want a next life, Xingxing. I’m not asking for much. Just stay with me in this one... please.”

“Jiang Mu, thank you for never giving up on me.”

“Silly Xingxing, I should be the one thanking you. Thank you for never giving up on me.”

The mountains hear summer’s song; at dusk, the stars sink low.
