Sun Wukong, the Victorious Fighting Buddha, is tricked because of his beloved, the Crimson Pearl Fairy, and bound to a karmic debt to “repay tears.” Forced to endure tribulations and be reborn, she is fated to die when her tears run dry. Sun Wukong resolutely abandons the freedom of the Buddhist realm, sealing away most of his powers and memories before reincarnating in a small world during the Han dynasty as Sun Hu, the only son of the Marquis of Anyuan. The only things he retains are a vague sense of the “Crimson Pearl’s” fate and his undying love for her. His mission: find her, protect her, and shatter that damned destiny of “repaying tears.”
