The apocalypse arrived, and I became the only dual-type evolver.
A meteor disaster. A nuclear interception. Ninety percent of humanity dead, and another nine percent turned into zombies. Tang Yu was hiding at home in the mountain city of Chongqing when he accidentally fused with the core of a fallen meteor, becoming a one-in-a-hundred-million dual evolver: his body could not be harmed, and his mind could reach the divine.
While others were still killing each other over a moldy piece of bread, Tang Yu could control blades with his mind and tear mutant beasts apart with his bare hands.
While factions fought over meteor fragments, Tang Yu sensed the world's only nine meteor cores calling to, devouring, and evolving with one another.
The mountain city became a hunting ground:
Hongyadong was turned into a slave camp, where humanity's evil played out in the open.
Ciqikou gave rise to metal crab swarms and energy crystals, while mutant beasts and monstrous plants carved up the territory.
Under the surface, tensions simmered within the Nanshan Corps, where every awakened fighter had their own agenda.
Across the river, the “Corpse Controller” commanded a tide of zombies, watching hungrily.
And from much farther away came other signals: European saints establishing divine rule, North American Beast Kings taming all manner of beasts, and a South American Mother Tree merging with the rainforest... The war between the holders of the nine stars had quietly begun.
Tang Yu gripped his Tang sword and walked among the steep stone steps and the fog.
He had no wish to be a savior. He only wanted to survive and find his missing sister.
But if survival meant stepping over mountains of corpses and rivers of blood, and evolution meant devouring other cores...
“Then everyone who stands in my way will become a stepping stone on my path to the top.”
This is the path of an evolver who walks alone.
It begins in the mountain city and ends with a face-to-face encounter with the gods.
Too much nonsense.
A post-apocalyptic novel set in a mountain city. The protagonist kills decisively. There is no Madonna content. The content setting is quite rich and it has a single female protagonist.
