When I was seven years old, my parents sent me to a village deep in the mountains.
The village is called Yunqi Valley, surrounded by mountains and shrouded in clouds and mist all year round.
There is a dilapidated bamboo fence at the entrance of the village, covered with dead vines and small white flowers. Master Qi said that the fence is not used to block people, but to block things that should not come.
There are rules in the village: you can't go out after dark, you can't answer when someone calls your name, and you can't pick wild fruits from the mountains behind.
I don't know why, I just know that from that day on, my parents never came back.
After many years, I finally stepped out of the valley, thinking I would be free from now on.
But I soon discovered that it was never the village that trapped me.
It's me.
