Journey to the West: I Became Invincible by Refusing to Set Sail

After transmigrating as Sun Wukong, Lin Xuan faces his first choice: should he go out to sea?

In the original story, the Monkey King crossed the oceans for twenty years before gaining his abilities.

Lin Xuan grins. “Why go to sea? Flower-Fruit Mountain is my dojo.”

The Chaos Demon King attacks? One punch sends him flying, and he becomes my underling.

The Dragon Palace tries to fool me? One punch shatters a pillar, and I empty the treasury.

The underworld comes to claim my soul? One punch knocks over the Judge, and I rewrite the Book of Life and Death.

The Celestial Court tries to recruit me? I send Taibai flying with my staff, then extort three Peaches of Immortality.

The Giant Spirit God brings soldiers to capture me? One swing of my staff takes him out.

The Four Heavenly Kings come to surround me? I injure three and leave without a care.

An avatar of Patriarch Bodhi descends. “Why didn’t you come looking for me?”

Lin Xuan: “I’m lounging at home. My cultivation rises by itself, my gear comes to me, and I recruit my own underlings. Why would I go to sea?”

The Jade Emperor: “What’s this monkey’s real background?”

The Tathagata: “He never entered the game, yet he’s already invincible.”

A saying spreads through the Three Realms: “Better to provoke Hongjun than the monkey who never goes to sea.”
