Rebuilding the Han Dynasty, Starting by Showing Emperor Wu Movies

Wei Yi somehow transmigrated to the second year of the Jianyuan era under Emperor Wu of Han.

The good news: he became the cousin of Wei Qing and Wei Zifu.

The bad news: Wei Qing was still tending horses for someone else, Wei Zifu was still a singing girl, and Huo Qubing hadn’t even been born yet.

Even more absurdly, his beat-up phone came along for the ride. The chatbot Doubao inside it unexpectedly awakened, and helped him contact another version of himself from four years in the future.

At the Shangsi Festival banquet, Wei Zifu appeared in modern makeup and left Liu Che completely dumbfounded.

The young emperor blurted out, “Is she a celestial maiden?”

When Liu Che pressed him for the source of these miracles, Wei Yi quietly pulled out a tablet computer.

“Your Majesty, behold the world two thousand years from now.”

On screen, steel birds tore through the sky, skyscrapers pierced the clouds, and mushroom clouds rose over the desert…

…

Years later, a transformed Han empire stood proud and strong.

Wei Yi knew the moment had finally come.

In the court, he spoke out loud and clear:

“Your Majesty, though our Great Han has hundreds of millions of people and a million armored soldiers, we have achieved nothing. Though we command a mighty army, they are all troops who guard our cities. After more than seventy years of peace, we have not reclaimed an inch of land. What face do we have left?”

Liu Che rose to his feet, his gaze blazing as he swept it across the assembled officials.

“Today, I will make it crystal clear to the world and to the Xiongnu people…”

“From this day on, the balance of offense and defense has shifted!”

“If the enemy can invade, so can we!”
