In Public: Just a Plaything. In Private: Don’t Leave Me, Darling

Everyone said that Li Xiao, the cold-hearted, womanizing heir to the powerful Li family in the capital, kept a beautiful young man hidden away. And this “beauty” was a man fourteen years his junior.

What they didn’t know was that this “beauty” was also mute.

Lian Wuyue met Li Xiao while he was in college.

With countless accolades to his name, Li Xiao was a figure of legend. So when a friend invited Lian Wuyue to one of Li Xiao’s drinking parties, he agreed without a second thought.

That night, Li Xiao slept with him.

From then on, whenever Lian Wuyue got into trouble, Li Xiao was always the first to step in and defend him. He even told him:

“I’m here to back you up, not to reason with them.”

In his innocence, Lian Wuyue dreamed of staying by Li Xiao’s side forever.

But everyone knew that Li Xiao changed men every month, unless he was feeling too lazy.

And Lian Wuyue was mute, on top of that. It could never last.

Yet after Li Xiao met Lian Wuyue, his private villa had a new master.

Li Xiao also had a rather unusual taste. He often brought different men home to toy with, then made Lian Wuyue choose one to be his voice double.

“Does this one sound like you used to?”

“Should I nod or shake my head?”

“Lian Wuyue, I’m talking to you.”

“Oh, I forgot. You’re a little mute.”

Lian Wuyue’s docility only emboldened Li Xiao to go further and further.

Finally, when Li Xiao found someone whose voice sounded just like his, Lian Wuyue understood that he meant nothing to him. He packed his bags and left on his own.

“Little mute, you’d better hope I never find you. You know the house rules.”
