Zhong Kui, the Holy Lord Who Bestows Blessings and Guards the Home, exists to slay every demon and evil spirit in the mortal world. When he discovers that the cruelty and brutality of modern invaders far exceed that of any vengeful ghost, his gaze travels across time and space. The protagonist’s defiance in the face of despair and his boundless hatred make him the perfect vessel for Zhong Kui’s divine power to descend upon the mortal world. This is not merely a personal revenge, but the protection of the ancient gods over the righteous order of the human world.
A very novel idea, a light in a dark time
